How it all started...
At the beginning of 2023, due to a very serious mold situation we had to restart life from scratch. After weighing up our options, we decided that the best way forward would be for August to leave his job and become self-employed. This is how MihaliX Joinery started back in April 2023. At the time Kate was running her own business as a remedial massage therapist. She started helping out with bookkeeping, invoices and answering messages on the new Facebook page. No one expected that within a few weeks the whole thing would “explode” and Kate suddenly ended up project manager! In November 2023 MihaliX Joinery Ltd was formed with Kate and August both being directors.
What began as a necessity has grown into a labor of love that we are truly passionate about. We continue to work and grow together and we are looking forward to where the rest of the adventure takes us.
The Mihaliks behind MihaliX
As a husband and wife run small family business, we cannot talk about MihaliX Joinery without talking about our Family! We are Katalin and Agoston Mihalik or Kate and August as most people know us here. We moved to Scotland from Hungary in 2013. We're now a family of four, plus a dog. Our daughter and son (born in 2019 & 2022) keep us on our toes and running our own business just adds to the fun. Whenever we can, we like to escape life a bit in our little touring caravan, exploring Scotland and making precious memories together.
It’s in the blood
Our main man, August has been in the industry for over 20 years. Having studied woodworking for 5 years and receiving a degree to teach it after a further 3 years, August learned the ins and outs of real-life cabinetry from his father back in Hungary, absorbing the passion for wood from birth.
Because we care
Our number one priority is customer satisfaction. We pride ourselves on using the best materials and always working to the highest standards. Although being maximalists can be difficult in our personal lives, the business definitely benefits from it. Within a few months of operating MihaliX Joinery has become well-known locally due our the high quality work, attention to detail and excellent customer care. We thrive to provide a stress-free and enjoyable experience to our customers from start to finish.
